    Other Events:

    • Occupation: I remember my father's parents well as they lived on my uncle Leo's farm in Chandler AZ which was less than two miles from my father's farm in Gilbert AZ. They had a very strong Basque accent and my father and uncle only spoke Basque to them. They lived on the farm of 160 acres on the NW corner of Ray Rd and Lindsay Rd in Chandler AZ with my Uncle Leo that I believe they purchased in 1932 and which was in the family until 1993. My father's farm was in Gilbert AZ on Elliot Rd 1/4 mile north of Lindsay Rd 1 and 1/2 miles due West of my grandfather and uncle's (Leon aka Leo) farm. Our farm was also 160 acres and was sold in 1985. My uncle Leo Coscarart married my mother Nadine Coscarart a few years before his death in 1986. Thus our uncle is also our stepfather, our father having died long before on July 5, 1964. My grandparents changed their names when they came to the United States and were known to us as John and Nely. I do know that my grandfather herded sheep on Catalina Island in Orange County Californa prior to moving to Arizona sometime between 1911 when my uncle Leo was born in California and 1921 when my father was born in Peoria AZ.
