• Other Information: Maria was born in Escou France to Louis Hauret and Engrace Castechourena. She came to the US as a young girl and married Jules Jacques Delpy on 05 May 1894 in Los Angeles. After their marriage the Delpys traveled to Vista where she made her home. At first it consisted on an abode hut and hen her 1st child was born she added urlap sacks to make for a room. Eventually they built a wooden house shown in the picture with the three sons and later a larger abode house. She was instrumental, shortly after her arrival in Vista, in establishing the Delpy School, attending classes herself in order to establish the eight students required to hire a teacher. The Delpy Ranch became a place for visitors. Maria was always involved in helping others, civic and church activites. She raised three sons Louis Delpy, Frank Delpy, and Jacques "Jack" Delpy. She died at the age of 104.

• Other Information: Louis Washington Delpy was the first son of Maria (Hauret) and Jules J. Delpy. He was born at the Vista Delpy Ranch, where he lived throughout his youth. Following graduation from Creighton College in Omaha, NB, he lived in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area where he was a real estate broker.

Frank married Elena Rose Itzaina on 07 Dec 1919 in Vista, California. Elena (daughter of Jean Baptiste/Juan Bautista Itcaina or Itzaina and Marie Etcheverri) was born on 06 Aug 1901 in San Marcos, California; died on 22 Oct 1980 in Fallbrook, California; was buried in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, California. • Other Information: Jacques Jules "Jack" Delpy was the third son born to Maria and Jules. He was born at the Delpy family home in Vista on July 5, 1902 and except for the times he was away at school or serving in World War II, he lived in Vista. He was one of Vista's earliest postmasters. Founded the first Chysler-Plymouth dealership in Vista, retiring 1956. He was a Life Member of Vista Elks Lodge # 1968. A long-time bachelor, Jack married Alice Rathner in 1953. He died March 8, 1980. He was survived by his wife Alice, son James Harrison "Jim", and daughters Jacqueline Cotton and Lisa Neirotti
