Tihista, Hinsdale, Mont., died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, of natural causes at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow. There will be a rosary service at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Bell Chapel in Glasgow. Interment will be at Nashua Cemetery in Nashua, Mont . Paul B. Tihista was born on Oct. 24, 1925, in Glasgow, Mont . He was one of seven children born to Michael and Marie (Ippaguerre) Tihista. Paul was raised in Nashua, graduating from Nashua High School in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1943, seeing action in the Pacific during World War II. He married Jean Woronoski on June 19, 1954, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was a lifetime Glasgow businessman starting with Econo Lumber in 1969. Paul was an avid card player, a huge New York Yankee fan and a devout Democrat. He was on the Democratic Central Committee for Valley County. Paul was appointed by the Governor to the Montana Fish and Game Commission and served from 1978 to 1983. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ed, John and Jerry Tihista. He is survived by his wife Jean of Glasgow; son, Paul Tihista Jr., of Mesquite, Nev.; daughter LeAnn (Brian) White of Kirkland, Wash.; sister Irene Stuart of Gilford, Mont.; brothers Mike (Barbara) Tihista of Auburn, Wash., and Rene Tihista of Sisters, Ore.; granddaughter Jessica White of Kirkland, Wash.; and step-grandchildren Sarah, Jeff and Jordan White of Kirkland, Wash. | Tihista, Paul Bernard (I3120)
