Noelie Bachoc December 7, 1924 ~ May 25, 2011 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away at the age of 86, at her daughter's home on May 25, 2011. Born on December 7, 1924, in Irissarry, France, she was the second of five children born to Antoine and Leonie Haran. Noelie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bachoc, also from Irissarry, whom she married in 1947. Together they immigrated to Chino, California, in 1948, in search of a better life. After running a successful dairy business for 20 years, they retired and dedicated their time to the Chino Basque Club. In 1999 they moved to Bakersfield, California, to be closer to their family. Noelie is survived by her children, Isabelle and Martin Lassa, Pierre and Theresa Bachoc, Raymond and Patricia Bachoc, and Gracie and Albert Goyenetche; as well as nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings in France, Henri Haran and Marie Dujol; sister-in-law, Maitecha Hegoas; and brother-in-law, Raymond Bachoc in Chino. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary, 2739 Panama Lane. That evening, her life will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy. in Bakersfield, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Please call Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary for any further information, (661) 834-8820. Patricia Brown, a resident of Aptos, passed away at Dominican Hospital on July 1st, 2023 after suffering a Ischemic stroke.
Patricia was born in Manteca CA on November 5th, 1932 to Joseph and Pauline (Yturri) Caine. She married George Brown on May 5th, 1953, who proceeded her in death.
Patricia worked at the Santa Cruz Seaside Company for many years until her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered in the office at Grey Bears and was soon hired on as the office manager where she worked for another twelve years. After retiring from Grey Bears, she volunteered at the Mid County Senior Center answering phones at the front desk.
She enjoyed Taiko drumming for a few years and helped start a Taiko for Seniors class while she was working at Grey Bears.
She was an avid reader and had a large collection of books. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing games on her phone, spoiling her dog and spending time with her daughter Kathie.

John Pierre Mathieu, 95, passed away October 2, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5 at Kirby Pines Manor, John Mathieu and Don Johnson, presiding. The interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. John was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines as a supply officer in the U.S. Navy. He was the Utah State Junior golf champion and went to the University of Chicago on a golfing scholarship. He retired as a regional sales manager with Zenith Radio Corporation of Chicago. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and attended First Evangelical Church with his wife. John is survived by his wife, Faye; daughter, Heather Amuny (Jack); sons, John Mathieu (Kathy) and Bill Mathieu (Rosemary); grandchildren, Heather Amuny-Dey (Jeff), David and John Mathieu, and Sydney and Rachel Mathieu; great-granddaughter, Arden Dey; sister, Mary McKenna; and brother, Pierre Hualde. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean-Baptiste and Marguerite Mathieu; step-father, Pete Hualde; and brother, Henry Mathieu. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Louis Catholic Church, Memphis, TN or First Evangelical Church, Missions Department, Memphis, TN.

Janie Marie (Espil) Laxague passed away at the Surprise Valley Community Hospital in Cedarville on April 14, 1986.
Mrs. Laxague, a lifetime resident of Surprise Valley, was active in the community and a very popular person. She was the wife of First District Supervisor John Laxague.
She was born Janie Marie Espil, June 29, 1915 in Cedarville. On October 1, 1938, she and John Laxague were married in Reno. She spent her life on the Laxague ranch in Surprise Valley.
She was survived by her husband, John of Cedarville; a daughter, Lucie Fjeldstad of Stamford, Connecticut; son, John Laxague, Jr. of Gardnerville, Nevada; sister, Marie Henderson of Rancho Murietta, California; brothers, Pete Espil of Redding and John Espil of Susanville; and three grandchildren.
A Christian Prayer service was held at Alturas Sacred Heart Church on April 16, and a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. James Catholic Church in Cedarville April 17. Burial followed in the Cedarville
Cemetery.
The Fathers Jim Sheets and Mike Kiernan officiated the services.

Russell Martin Maxwell, 60, Cheyenne, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, in Buffalo. He was father of Russell Martin Marty Maxwell Jr. and brother of Marci Buckley, both of Sheridan. Mass was celebrated this morning in Buffalo with burial there in Willow Grove cemetery. Born Aug. 16, 1948, in Buffalo to Vernon Whitey and Jeanette Maxwell, he attended Johnson County High School and South Dakota State University in Brookings. He also taught engineering classes at SDSU. Mr. Maxwell worked 27 years as a communications specialist with Union Pacific Railroad in Cheyenne. He loved the mountains, hiking, fishing, and reading. A brother, Danny Maxwell, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a second son, Seth Adam Maxwell of Cheyenne; seven additional sisters, Mary Kay Stafford, Marilyn Maxwell, and Marti Markovsky, all of Buffalo, Monica Smithers of Arnold, Calif., Margo Trevino of Tracy, Calif., Melani Cole of Springfield, Mo., and Michele Peck of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two brothers, David Maxwell of Baltic, S.D., and Tom Maxwell of Beach, N.D. Services for Cedarville resident George Laxague will be held this morning, 11 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, with father P.V. Lenehan officiating. Burial will be at the Eagleville Cemetery.
Laxague, 85, died Jan. 12 in Cedarville.
He was born Feb. 14, 1906 in Board Corrals, Nev.
Laxague will long be remembered for running the Union Station in Cedarville for a span of 30 years.
He loved fishing and his favorite pastime was watching sports on television. Surviving are his sister Faye Harrington; two brothers, Frank Arreche and John Laxague; and many nephews and nieces.
The family would appreciate donations sent to St. James Catholic Church, Surprise Valley Community Hospital or to a charity of one's choice.

George Laxague of Cedarville died Jan 12 at the Surprise Valley hospital in Cedarville. He had been taken to the hospital Dec. 18, but had been ill for several years.
Laxague was born in 1906 and grew up in Eagleville. After college he worked in the Bay Area shiyards and then worked in gold minig near Redding. He operated the Mobile Station in Cedarville for many of his 48 years in Modoc County.
His immediate relatives include John Laxague, Frank Arreche and a sister, Fay Harrington of Pine Grove.
