• Education: 1936-1944; Education in Les Aldudes was conducted by the priests. One priest recognized his potential and pushed him very hard to study. He would go to sleep on many nights with a book in his hand. When his aunt Catherine Harriet offered to pay for his education at a school in St. Jean Pied de Port, he refused because he was already burned out from studying.
• Military: 1950-1952; French Army Paratrooper. He made 26 jumps while on duty as a paratrooper.
• Immigration: 1953, Buffalo, Wyoming; He was sponsored to come to America by his mother's first cousin Catherine Marton who owned a sheep ranch in Buffalo, Wyoming. He came with another cousin Domingo Martiarena and the two along with the Marton sons, Charles and John, herded sheep on the Marton Ranch. He said that the winters were very cold there and he was anxious to move to a warmer climate.

He did scaffolding with the Aphessetche brothers and general carpentry with the Nielson brothers. He claimed to have helped construct the Capital Records building and the KTLA radio tower.
• Occupation: 1957-1963, Buena Park, California; After his marriage to Grace Biscay, he went to work for the Orange County Food Service business. He drove a small lunch truck around to various businesses. He was one of the first employees hired by this company which is a multi-million dollar company today.
• Occupation: 1963-1970; They leased the Centro Basco Hotel in Chino from Ben & Melanie Sallaberry and eventually sold the business to Peyo and Monique Berterretche
• Occupation: 1971-1972; They built a building on Central Ave in Chino to operate a sausage making plant and retail meat store called Basque Brand Sausage.
• Occupation: 1973-1976; They formed a partnership with Henri Arrambide of Lasse to operate a restaurant in Montclair. They called it The Basque and Henri ran the bar, Jean Baptiste the kitchen and Grace was the hostess. The large banquet room in the back was the site of many large Basque parties and weddings.
• Occupation: 1977-1982; He returned to work for Orange County Food Service Co. to operate one of their larger lunch wagons. He enjoyed making specials at home at night and selling them the next day to the employees of the various companies he visited. His customers nicknamed him "Frenchy".

• Immigration: He immigrated to Buffalo Wyoming in 1921 to join his older brother Manech. He sailed on the La Savoie from La Havre, France to Ellis Island, New York. He spent 4 years in Buffalo working as a sheepherder, afterwhich he returned to Les Aldudes.
• Occupation: After marrying into the house of Martinea, he took over the general farming and also ran the flour mill located on the property.

Pattin was the youngest of nine children and lost his mother in 1907 at the age of 9. His older sister Elisabeth raised him after that.

While attending mass, he suffered a stroke and died a few days later.

His death information was found in the margin of his birth record.

• Travel: 1969-1990; In 1969, Anna and Pattin visit their children and grandchildren in Southern California. After her husband died she would make many more trips to visit and her final trip was in 1990 for the marriage of Mitch & Delora.
• Occupation: 1927-1993; She was dedicated to her family and her home. She was a hard worker including taking meticulous care of her vegetable garden. She made enough conserves to provide food throughout the winter. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she passed along her ability to laugh to each of her children.

Anna was the only child of this union, although she had two older sister through her father's first marriage. Her father died when she was only 7 years old. She was raised with her cousin Jean Baptiste Bide whose father was killed in World War One. She remained in the house of Martinea her entire life.

This was the retirement home she lived in for the last 5 years of her life.

They kept the 10 acres for growing of corn which they did for over 10 years until the School District took the property through eminent domain. They maintained the house on Magnolia for the remainder of their lives.

Juanes was originally married to Jeanne Uhalt from the house of Martinea in Les Aldudes and they had two daughters Catherine and Jeanne. After the death of his first wife, he left his young daughters with relatives and went to California to herd sheep primarily in the Bakersfield area. After a visit to the Basque country in 1902, he was heading west on a train when he met Patsy Healy, owner of the Patterson-Healy sheep company in Buffalo, Wyoming. He was convinced to exit the train in Buffalo and became the first Basque in Buffalo. He summoned his brother Jean Baptiste (Manech) and later his cousins Pete and Simon Harriet from Arneguy, France. Juanes worked for a few years in Buffalo and saw the two Harriet brothers marry his two daughters. In 1909, he returned to France, remarried to Catherine Iriart and had another daughter, Marianne. He served as mayor of Les Aldudes prior to his death.
